The results of the second international Olympiad of Metropolises were announced today in the Moscow International performing art-centre. The winners in team competition are Moscow, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Students from St. Petersburg, Krakow, Minsk, Sofia, Belgrade got the second place. The teams from Istanbul, Jakarta, Almaty, Budapest, Zagreb, Chengdu, Baku, Leipzig, Riga and Astana shared the third position.
Aleksey Konoplev from Moscow became the absolute winner in the individual chemistry competition. Mariusz Trela from Krakow got the best result in informatics. Aleksa Milojevic from Belgrade and Zhang Sheng-Tong from Shanghai shared the victory in mathematics. Shing-Yan Li from Hong Kong got the title of the best phycisist.
The students also took part in the blitz contest, the results of which were evaluated separately. The teams of Shanghai, St. Petersburg, Hong Kong, Moscow and Belgrade got the first prize.
The participants from metropolises and capitals of the countries around the world took part in the competition, which consisted of two rounds in chemistry, physics, mathematics and informatics. Each team included eight students, each pair took part in one subject. The prizes were given for both individual and team competitions.
The second International Olympiad of Metropolises took part in Moscow from 4th till 8th September, 2017. Teams from 36 biggest capitals and metropolises of the world took part in the competition, including participants from Abu-Dhabi, Almaty, Astana, Baku, Banja Luka, Belgrade, Bishkek, Bratislava, Budapest, Vienna, Gaborone, Hanover, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Düsseldorf, Zagreb, Jerusalem, Krakow, Leipzig, Lima, Luoyang, Milan, Minsk, Moscow, New-Delhi, Beijing, Riga, Rome, St. Petersburg, Sofia, Istanbul, Tallinn, Tel-Aviv, Helsinki, Chengdu and Shanghai.
